[America wakes up outside of town, surrounded by trees. She's extremely confused as to where she is, how she got there, what the hell she's wearing, and how a pair of light blue wings somehow got attached to her back. She notices a journal on the ground next to her, and picks it up. Flipping through the pages, it becomes clear this is no ordinary journal. She decides to try talking at it to see what happens.]

OK, whose journal is this, and where the fuck am I? More importantly, where are my clothes? I was kind of in the middle of kicking this pendejo's ass and I can't do that in some flimsy dress. Plus, it's fucking cold out here.

[Deciding that's good enough for now, she closes the journal and takes to the sky, trying to figure out where exactly she is. She spots a town in the distance and heads that way...]

CHARACTER

Name: America "Miss America" Chavez
Canon: Young Avengers (Marvel 616)
Gender: Female
Age: approximately 17
Wing Color: light blue, almost to the point of white

Canon Point: Volume 2, Issue 12, as they're fighting the Evil Exes in Mother's Dimension
Canon Point Explanation: This is a relatively recent canon point, and being pulled mid-battle would make America more confused.
History: One and Two

Personality:

Loki describes America as "One mysterious interdimensional superhero with mysterious background and mysterious anger issues." The Young Avengers writer, Kieron Gillen, says of America, "She’s violent. Which could be seen as skirting a latina-girl-with-fiery-temper stereotype. [...] But she hasn’t a temper. Or, at least, none that we’ve seen on the page. She’s just terribly direct and believes that appropriate levels of violence are acceptable. She has little tolerance for games."

Little is known of her origin or her motivation, but her morals are pretty clear. When Loki asks her to kill Wiccan, she refuses, saying "I do know what killing means, Loki. I'm pretty down on that." She'll see things through til the end, whether she has a clear reason to be there or not. She made it her mission after her meeting with Loki to watch over Wiccan and make sure nothing bad happens to him, which is how she got roped into joining the Young Avengers. Even though she doesn't allow herself to get particularly close to her teammates, she still will take the proverbial (and literal) bullet for them, saying "If we don't save each other, we've got jack."

She's very straightforward and direct, rarely concealing her true thoughts or opinions. If she's got a problem with you, she'll let you know about it, probably physically. Her default strategy when it comes to facing problems is "punch everything." She has no compunctions about mouthing off to authority figures (She called She-Hulk puta).

America is very secretive when it comes to her past. She doesn't tell anyone where she comes from, what her history is, or even what all her powers are. She clearly ran away from the world her mothers sacrificed themselves to create for her, and all the responsibility that would come with it. Whatever happened to her home dimension, America wants no part of it.

A lot of America's personality is revealed in the way she interacts with her teammates, particularly with Loki. She never fully trusts Loki, probably because when they first met, he banished her to the Sixth Dimension where the powerful magician Tiboro first tried to kill her, then tried to marry her, and because the next time she and Loki met, he tried to get her to kill Wiccan. Even though that request was only made to manipulate America into watching over Wiccan, it still soured her view on Loki rather permanently. That said, after not trusting him, pushing him around, scolding him, and every other way she was wary of him, she still was willing to sacrifice herself for him because he was her teammate. Then, after Loki reveals he was responsible for all the events that brought them into the trouble they've found themselves in, he feels extremely remorseful and begs America to kill him, but again she refuses, saying, "I'm not going to make anything easier for you, chico." This could be seen as America punishing Loki for manipulating them all, or it could be seen as her protecting him from himself, in a way.

Another teammate whose interactions with America help define her personality is Wiccan, or Billy. The whole reason Loki asks her to kill him (but really wants her to watch over him) is because he is destined to become the Demiurge, a magician with power over reality. Billy is reluctant to fulfill this role, scared of what his power can do, and what that all means. America says to him, "You could be the most important person in reality. So could lots of people." She protects him, and reassures him, even when she's scared for him, herself. As stoic and unemotional as she is, she's been brought to tears twice watching over Billy.

At first glance, she may appear to be something of a tomboy (with her violence, heavy sneakers, and lack of romantic attachments), but she's girly as well, wearing earrings, nail polish, and revealing clothing. Her creator, Joe Casey, stated that America intentionally doesn't wear underwear, not even into battle. Whether this is for comfort reasons, for some kind of female empowerment, or just because she's lazy hasn't been stated (though I doubt it's because she's lazy).

Strengths
Physical: The origin of America's powers hasn't been explained, though it is seen that she inherited them from her mothers. She can fly, move at super speeds, withstand rocket blasts, and punch through a steel door. Obviously, all these abilities would be toned down the requisite ~50% for Luceti's environment. Additionally, she has the ability to literally kick her way from one dimension to another. This ability to travel across dimensions would obviously be nullified for the game mechanics to work (otherwise, she could just kick her way home). In addition to her superpowers, America is a skilled fighter, though less martial-arts-trained and more brawler.

Mental: America is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish. In addition to her ability to travel from one dimension to another, she's also been shown to be able to sense or track an individual across dimensions.

Emotional: She is calm in the face of difficulty, never freaking out when enemies arrive or when she seems to be in deep, deep trouble.

Weaknesses
Physical: She's perhaps too reliant on her super strength. She wouldn't know what to do in a situation where violence was impossible.

Mental: America isn't dumb by any means, but she's not known for her intelligence. She's certainly not the brains of the operation. She also is ignorant of many pop culture things simply because she spends her time traveling across dimensions rather than reading books or watching TV. For example, she doesn't watch Game of Thrones and she doesn't have an Instagram.

Emotional: America has a short temper, and resorts to fighting or hitting to get what she wants a lot of the time. She threatens those who annoy her with violence, sometimes going straight past threatening and right to the actual hitting. She also doesn't form relationships easily, reluctant to let people get close to her.

Anything else?: Nope!

SAMPLES

First Person:

So what's the point of having wings if they don't do anything? I mean, I can fly perfectly fine without them, thanks. They don't even flap! And whose bright idea was it to take away the only power I have that could get me out of this place? This is officially the worst dimension I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot of dimensions. [She sighs.] Still, at least the accommodations are free. Not exactly my taste, but not bad. And it gets me away from the mierda I was dealing with before. I can be grateful for that. Though I do worry a bit about how everyone's doing without me... I'm kind of the best weapon they have.

All that said, I'm not going to stop looking for a way out. My... [ay dios, is she really going to call them that?] ...friends need me.

Third Person:

America stands in the middle of a clearing, arms spread wide, trying to summon the power to kick her way out of this messed up forest dimension. Unfortunately, the only things glowing are her eyes and the tattoos on the insides of her wrists, not the ground in front of her. After a moment in which nothing happens, she opens her eyes, lets out a frustrated yell, and turns, punching the tree behind her. A huge chunk of bark goes flying, but the tree stays standing. This too seems to frustrate America. Shaking her head, she turns, closes her eyes, spreads her arms, and begins to try again.

After a few more repetitions of this, America has accomplished nothing except punching the tree so much that it seems about to fall over. Finally giving up, she sighs and slumps down against a (more stable and less likely to fall on top of her) tree trunk. She was never really much of an outdoorsy person. She doesn't know what to do, surrounded by all these trees with her only escape power not working. And the wings! What is she supposed to do about the pair of wings that for some strange reason just showed up on her back? Cut holes in her clothes? Maybe, but she's not about to deface her good leather jacket for this. The shirt, maybe, but not the jacket.

Feeling angry at life in general and sick of wallowing in her failure to escape, America picks herself up, dusts off her hands, and decides to go do something productive. Like look for a pair of scissors. Something to tailor her shirt to accommodate the new wings. She kicks off the ground and flies up above the tree line. Hovering, she decides to aim one last kick at her punching bag tree, sending it finally toppling over into the clearing. Then, satisfied, she flies away.
